Customer Spotlights

Customer Spotlight: Supagas

For Supagas, achieving 100% compliance is how they protect their people and their business.

Supagas is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, serving customers across [confirm: industries/regions]. With a large field-based workforce of service agents, resellers, and office staff, ensuring every employee is trained, assessed, and compliant is more than an operational challenge. It’s a legal and safety imperative. Over the past three financial years, Supagas has achieved 100% compliance across all mandatory legal training modules and that result has improved year on year.

Luke Wilson, National Learning & Development Manager, inherited a training environment that had grown unwieldy: too many courses, too many manual processes, and a workforce that had begun to lose confidence in digital learning altogether. The stakes, however, had never been higher.

Seertech’s platform and team has supported Supagas through periods of rapid growth over the last 5 years. In this time, the company has grown by 30% and the integration of various learning technology into Seertech’s Eco-System and supported large cohorts easily.

The challenge: compliance under pressure, building confidence in learning experience

For Supagas, compliance is tied directly to government regulation, external audits, and the safety of the people who handle hazardous materials every day. Approximately 10–12 courses carry legal standing, and 100% completion is the only acceptable outcome.

Before finding a stable footing with Seertech, the team faced a familiar enterprise problem: training had proliferated faster than the systems managing it. A growing course catalog, manual tracking, and a fragmented learner experience left staff hunting for content and managers uncertain about who had completed what.

Rebuilding confidence in the platform, the process, and learning itself became as important as achieving the compliance targets.

The solution: structure, automation, and real accountability

Seertech gave Supagas a foundation for managed, measurable compliance through a four-layer job role scaffolding structure: company-wide requirements, branch or facility requirements, department, and individual position. Each employee sees only the training relevant to their specific role, making learning more targeted and giving the business confidence that the right people are completing the right training. Practical assessments and mandatory frameworks were built into the workflow, replacing paper-based processes with a structured digital trail.

The platform integrated directly with Supagas’ HRIS (employees) and contractor management system (contractors) via Azure, with data flowing into Power BI dashboards that give managers and executives real-time visibility into team performance. In a company where quarterly KPIs, performance bonuses, and management reporting are all tied to training completion, that data accuracy is everything.

  • Job role-based learning paths across field and office populations
  • Practical assessments replacing paper-based processes
  • HRIS integration via Azure for automated user management
  • Power BI connector for executive and manager reporting dashboards
  • Audit-ready compliance tracking with mandatory evidence collection and management sign-off built into every completion

Supagas is now investigating way to support the broader gas distribution network by providing access to their agents and dealers to supply gas on behalf of Supagas to many Australian communities.

Results: compliance achieved, confidence restored, KPI achieved

The Supagas-Seertech partnership impact extends well beyond the compliance checkbox.

Training completion is now tied directly to individual KPIs and a monetary incentive structure, making learning a tangible part of how performance is measured and rewarded. Managers can report on their team’s progress with confidence, knowing the underlying data is accurate and traceable.

Each year, Supagas reaches full compliance earlier in the financial year than the last — reducing end-of-year administrative pressure and giving managers greater confidence in the data they’re reporting on. Previously, compliance completions were recorded without sufficient supporting evidence; that’s no longer possible. Mandatory evidence requirements and management sign-offs are now built into the completion process, meaning every record is audit-ready by design, not by scramble.

What’s next: from compliance foundation to intelligent learning

Luke is candid that the next phase is about making the platform work harder and smarter. With a clear 2026–27 roadmap, Supagas is investing in AI-driven efficiencies, richer data insights, and a more personalized learner experience that cuts through the noise of an oversized course catalog.

The vision, in Luke’s words, is an LMS that is equally intuitive for learners, managers, and administrators: one where every user can achieve their goal in the fewest clicks possible, and where training data drives genuine business decisions rather than sitting in siloed reports. For a company that moves fast and holds itself to exacting standards, that’s the bar they set. Supagas wants to move to a model where training on demand and learning in the flow of work happens automatically and personalized with ever-changing roles and advancement.
