Covered in Our Latest Product Tour

If you missed our recent product tour — or just want a quick refresh — you’re in the right place. In under an hour, Seertech’s Chief Revenue Officer Brad Swingruber and Solution Consultant Young Oh showcased how our Channels feature is helping organizations scale learning without scaling complexity.

Built into Seertech’s core platform, Channels empowers companies to create personalized, branded, and collaborative learning environments that function like “mini LMS” instances—nested within a single system. Whether you’re training different business units, partner networks, or global audiences, Channels enables personalization at scale while keeping governance intact.

What Are Channels?

“Channels” is more than just a feature; it’s a flexible framework for creating tailored learning experiences within your existing LMS. Think of it as a self-contained space for a specific audience (like a sales team or product line) with its own homepage, content, experts, discussions, and branding — all governed centrally.

It’s ideal for:

  • Supporting multiple brands or business units
  • Empowering subject matter experts (SMEs) to manage content
  • Delivering localized or audience-specific learning without extra platforms
  • Encouraging peer learning and community engagement

What Attendees Told Us

Throughout the session, we polled attendees to hear what they’re struggling with and how they’d use Channels in their own learning ecosystems.

💬 How personalized is your current learning?

Nearly 50% said only 0–25% of their learning is personalized. Another 11% weren’t sure, underscoring the lack of visibility and tools to measure personalization today.

💬 What’s the biggest obstacle to getting there?

• Content development (speed and volume) – 32%

• Limitations with tech – a close second

• Followed by access to SMEs and admin workload

💬 How would you use Channels in your org?

Most respondents said: collaboration. They’re looking to Channels to power forums, discussions, and knowledge sharing across distributed teams.

Real Solutions, Real Examples

Brad and Young walked through live platform views and real customer use cases to show how Channels helps organizations:

✔️ Empower SMEs and local leaders to manage learning content

✔️ Let learners self-subscribe to relevant topic-based communities

✔️ Create personalized landing pages by role, region, or business unit

✔️ Assign learning paths and allow peer assessments

✔️ Enable discussions, forums, and direct access to experts

✔️ Tag content to skills taxonomies and filter by modality

✔️ Capture and preserve tribal knowledge before it walks out the door

✔️ Maintain governance through configurable approval workflows

🔦 Spotlight on Red Hat

Red Hat has been a Seertech customer since 2015 and has become a standout example of how to use Channels to drive real business value. (Pst — watch the

Here’s how they’re using Channels:

  • Consolidated 25+ legacy systems into one platform
  • Created multiple branded learning academies for internal and external audiences
  • Launched an AI Skills Academy and Business Acumen Academy with tailored layouts and access
  • Enabled 50,000+ new users and issued 82,000+ skill badges in just a few months
  • Empowered SMEs and managers to contribute content without losing control

Their approach proves that personalization and scale aren’t mutually exclusive — and that empowering SMEs can radically improve engagement, efficiency, and outcomes.

We had the privilege of Red Hat’s Learning Technology Strategust, Ben Furse, join in the chat. Here are his comments and expert channel tips:

We love that the subscribers’ ability to Add Content can also be extended to already-deployed content within the Seertech catalog. So when a subscriber stumbles across a learning path, course, or video that is available in the larger catalog but not already in the channel — they can suggest it be added.

The best part about these channels is that ownership can be federated across the business, sharing the accountability for keeping these up to date and effective.

In our mind, contributing relevant content to a channel and adding replies to discussion forms (especially replies that are ‘liked’ by other subscribers) are valid indicators of a user’s skill level.

Regarding AI agent integrations, at Red Hat we’re using the Seertech REST API to create an MCP server layer that makes it easy to connect Seertech hosted data to AI agents and models. Seertech’s ‘Data Pipeline’ solution, along with the REST API flexibility, makes it easy to empower external apps with the data they need.

Final Takeaways

This product tour reinforced what we’re hearing from L&D leaders across industries:

  • Personalization is essential but hard to achieve with traditional tools
  • Channels offers a practical, scalable way to bridge the gap
  • You don’t need more headcount — you need better configuration and flexibility
  • Empowering SMEs with the right permissions and structure can unlock hidden knowledge and accelerate impact

As Brad said during the tour, “Now is the time for L&D to be agile and relevant — not just operational.”

If your current LMS is slowing you down or forcing workarounds, it doesn’t have to be that way. With Seertech, there’s a smarter, more scalable path forward.
